Montana Knife Company is looking for a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team and help us scale the finance and accounting department. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. Experience with QBO, FishBowl Inventory (or similar) is highly preferred as our company relies on these platforms for inventory management and financial reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Inventory Cost Management: Oversee and reconcile inventory transactions.
- A/R, A/P and Payroll: Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Internal Controls: Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within the finance department.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Support management with special projects and initiatives as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in QBO and FishBowl Inventory preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Experience in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Budgeting and forecasting experience is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
