We love big game hunting and big game knives, and we make no apologies for it. But we’re well aware of the bird-shaped hole existing in the MKC lineup. Now, we’re changing that with the Sharptailed knife.
We made the Sharptailed specifically for upland bird hunters. It’s the perfect multifunctional blade for processing quail, pheasant, grouse, chukar, and more.
Why the Sharptailed?
If you’ve ever gone out to buy a knife specifically for upland hunting, you know how shallow the pool of options is. You have two choices: settle for unreliable disposable blades or carry a knife that was designed for large game.
The Sharptailed introduces a desperately needed third option: purchase the perfect knife for upland hunters. It’s as high-quality as any custom blade, and it’s backed by the trusted MKC name.
The Sharptailed’s shape is perfect for precise, surgical cuts. Its comfortable and ornate handle makes it easy to grip. For extra-delicate tasks, you can hold it like a paintbrush or pencil.
This is also one of our first knives with an embellished handle. The bird feather details make this knife’s purpose unmistakable.
The Sharptailed isn’t just a souvenir. It also isn’t disposable. It’s an heirloom-quality blade you can rely on for consistent performance on every upland hunt for the rest of your life, guaranteed.
Primary and Secondary Uses
We designed the Sharptailed to process quail, partridge, pheasant, grouse, woodcock, prairie chicken, chukar, and other upland game.
However, the precise shape and design also make it a great caping knife. It cuts well around skulls, antlers, eyeballs, and other areas that need a delicate touch.
Sharptailed Knife Specs
The Sharptailed has a small trailing point and a fine, surgical blade. It features Magnacut stainless steel, a full tang, an ornate G10 handle, and a hole for lanyard attachments.
Like all MKC knives, it comes with a Kydex sheath and is manufactured, assembled, and hand-finished in the USA.
Final Thoughts
What do you think of the Sharptailed? We took a few risks when designing this blade, and I’m proud to see that they paid off.
Upland game hunters are in dire need of some representation, but even if you aren’t a small game hunter, ultra-precise blades have endless use cases. I look forward to seeing how this revolutionary new blade fits into your lineup.
