The Grinnell Jacket is not like the puffy jacket that has been done time after time, it's where your favorite full-zip hoody meets the warmest down jacket you've ever worn. The jacket is literally named after a glacier in the heart of Glacier National Park, we did that for a reason.
Similar to the Oberlin Pullover Puffy in design, this time we added a full-zipper so it comes on and off just like your traditional jacket but with the same profile and hood that the Oberlin had and all the same features.
We packed this puffy jacket with 800 gsm synthetic fill because when temperatures drop, and we mean it, this thing is a furnace. The two hand pockets are lined with ultra warm sherpa fleece for cold hands. Internal ribbing at the sleeve cuffs seals out the cold. Dipped drawcords. Custom MKC PVC patches and printed liner throughout.
The Grinnell Puffy Zip Jacket is truly what you want for your cold-weather daily jacket. Whether it's your go-to hunting jacket or your everyday hiking jacket, the Grinnell handles it. Standing around a bonfire. School drop-off. Dog walks. Running errands.

I’m convinced the Montana Knife Company Grinnell Puffy isn’t made of normal materials. Pretty sure it’s some combination of elk hair, Viking beard fibers, and whatever insulation they use in Valhalla.
This thing is absurdly warm.
Putting it on feels like being wrapped in masculine love. Like a hug from your grandfather. Quiet, strong, reassuring… and suddenly the cold doesn’t seem like a big deal anymore.
Wind? Doesn’t matter.
Late season hunt? Doesn’t matter.
Standing around camp at 5 AM questioning your life choices? Still warm.
I’m fairly certain you could wear this into the coldest corner of the nine realms and be comfortable while Odin judges your life decisions.

The jacket came out after the nasty polar vortex but from the little use I have gotten from it it seems like it's going to be really warm. With proper care this could easily be a 10 year coat. I got the size in medium and it fits really nice even with a hoodie or flannel. Definitely recommend

This coat is as warm as you would hope it is. The pockets are super comfy and toasty. It’s definitely puffy and people may crack jokes, but you will laugh last as they freeze and you don’t.

Loaded with insulation jacket for exceptional warmth. So good I bought 2 more on the sale. true to size. Toasty. And would work in a pinch to keep things cool on a hot day too.
